2022 World Standard Day: We are working with other agencies to standardize all products – Farouk Salim

The Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has urged everyone to obtain SON Certificate before selling any product in order to safeguard the lives of everyone.

According to the Director General of Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Farouk Salim, made this known on Friday in Lagos during World Standard Day celebration themed: Standard For Sustainable Development Goals.

He stated that the Standard Organisation of Nigeria is ensuring that product certification is taken seriously and products imported to the country should be in line with standards.

Also, he noted that Standard Organisation of Nigeria is proactive in ensuring food security as they are working with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and control for food inspection in order to safeguard and protect the lives of the citizens.

However, he stated that the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) is doing everything possible to raise awareness about the benefits of obtaining a SON certificate for products, as it ensures the security and safety of manufacturers and their customers.

He added that the agency is working with other agencies towards standardizing all the products that are being produced and being imported into Nigeria because the protection and safeguarding of the citizens’ lives is their priority.
